बच्चों का मोटापा स्वास्थ्य के लिए बड़ा खतरा-डॉ नीरज अरोड़ा

रोज़ाना चार-पांच तरह के फल और सब्ज़िओ को भोजन में करे शामिल

Dr. Neeraj Arora – Consultant Neonatology & Pediatrics

Why?

I seldom ask why the Earth is round,

Why the sky is above and surface is on the ground.

Why the moonlight lights up the world in the night,

Why the Earth is in morning shining and bright.

I ponder and find out the queries are childish,

But why hatred and enmity in mankind is found and man is selfish.

All men are same, but why the boundaries are drawn.

Now some are happy and maximum people seem withdrawn.

Oh God ! save the Earth,

Save the mankind .

Give me a gem,

So that I can change the world,

and take it away from any blame,

Above all no man can plan any game.

A satire on women’s life in Indian society

There was once a time when women was considered to be a Devi or goddess in the house.

The house was regarded as the heavenly abode where all rites were performed according to her. With the passage of time her plight deteriorated. She was given a place in the fields of education, politics, defense, air and entertainment.

But it is the height of selfishness for men,who fully appreciate in their own case the great advantage of a good education, to deny these advantages to women.Today we can witnesses that crime against women has really increased.Women is harassed, robbed, threatened , abducted and murdered. There is no end to her sad story.

History is evident that sati system, dowry system have ended but misery of women has not ended. It is perpetual. According to higher conception of women’s sphere, women ought to be something more than a household drudge. There is a vast difference between what is said and what is being done. This gap is satirical as women seems to be merely a puppet in the hands of family, politics, and economy of the nation.

Today the role of women is vast. As a mother her highest duty is the education of her children. It is needless to say that first foundation of education cannot be laid by an ignorant mother. On these grounds female education is a vital necessity .

Her role is vast and should be maintained, her place in the world should be restored to her as according to what is written in books and what is said.

Put Away Fungal Diseases During the Sweaty Months-Dr. Rohini Thakur

During the summer season, there is usually a rise in the cases of fungal infections due to the increased humidity. Fungi, which grows all around us as well as within the body, thrives in moist and humid environments and can multiply and grow more easily during the summer season. Dr. Rohini Thakur Consultant Dermatology Columbia Asia Hospital, Patiala told Fungal infections more commonly occur in the crevices of the body where it is more likely for sweat to be produced and trapped, for example, in the armpits, between the thighs, between the toes or under the breasts. If one is not careful with their hygiene and spends a long time with the moisture trapped between the folds of skin, they are at a high risk of developing a fungal disease. The following are some symptoms of fungal infection told Dr. Rohini:

Dr. Rohini Thakur Consultant Dermatology
  1. Itching or burning sensation
  2. Dryness
  3. Cracking or Peeling
  4. Scaliness
  5. Red patches

If any of the above symptoms do not go away by washing and moisturizing, there is a possibility that it could be a fungal infection. The following are the most common fungal infections witnessed during humid seasons –

  • Athlete’s Foot

This infection affects the feet and usually starts from in between the toes. Wearing socks for long hours, re-using socks, wearing closed shoes in the hot climate for very long. Maintain impeccable hygiene if you use the swimming pool and public bathroom during the humid climates as the fungi are likely to be found there. If you start to experience redness, blistering, itchiness in between your toes, apply a topical anti-fungal cream. Visit the doctor if symptoms are severe and cannot be managed by a topical cream.

Prevention: During the summer season, it is best to allow the feet to breathe freely as much as possible. Opt for open-toe footwear. If you tend to sweat often, try to use powders and regularly wipe to avoid fungal growth

  • Ringworm

Named after the way that this disease looks, ringworm is highly contagious and can spread quickly across your skin. Symptoms are rashes that appear in the form of red circles. The skin can become raised, itchy, and flaky. Ringworm can spread through human contact, soil, and even animals. It can usually be controlled and treated easily with an anti-fungal cream.

Prevention: Hygiene is key to prevent ringworm. Ensure you clean and dry yourself after playing with pets, or playing out in the garden. Parents must take extra care of their children’s hygiene during this time.

  • Jock’s Itch

This infection occurs between the inner thighs, around the groin or buttocks area, and can occur to both men and women. The infection usually presents with continual itching, chafing, redness, scaliness, or a rash.

Prevention: Choose loose-fitted, cotton underwear, and more breathable clothing during the summer. Avoid synthetic material. Avoid wearing the same clothes for very long especially, if it has been drenched in sweat as this will promote the growth of fungi. Take more showers and dry yourself properly throughout the day depending on your activity levels.

Fungal infections depend largely on moisture to survive. If any parts of your body are prone to excessive sweating, or if you are very active, the fool proof way to avoid infection is by maintaining impeccable hygiene. Clean yourself regularly and keep your skin dry. Choose loose and cotton-based attire that will help absorb sweat rather than create an extra barrier outside your skin. Change your clothes regularly, and avoid repeat usage of clothes during the hot months. A lot of people use the swimming pool during the summer season – ensure that you do not sit in your wet swimming costume for very long, maintain good hygiene when using the public bathrooms, wear clean and dry footwear. Keep your immune system at its best by keeping yourself hydrated so that your body can cope with any infections.

Exhibiting worth emulating noble gesture towards the cops, working relentlessly as frontline warriors in Patiala District, SSP Vikram Jeet Duggal has announced a Special leave on the special occasion of their birthday and Wedding Anniversary.

Divulging details, SSP Vikram Jeet Duggal said, “Police is the law enforcement wing of any society. As emergency service providers, they are at the frontline of fighting any crisis that the society faces. Mostly, they have to work constantly in high stress situations, thus, taking a toll on their family life and personal wellbeing.”

The main objective behind this decision is to provide our police personnel the time and space to enjoy and cherish their special personal moments, added Mr. Duggal.

District Police Chief who issued these orders on August 11, 2020, further said that under the on-going Covid-19 Pandemic, role of Patiala police has been much appreciated, with police personnel being involved in activities ranging from curfew enforcement to celebrating birthdays of general public. The situation was such that police officials had to work tirelessly and selflessly, thereby not being able to pay needed attention to their personal affairs.

As police responds to a multitude of problems due to unprecedented spread of virus, it is important that all of us should remember that police continues to fight this unseen enemy in very difficult circumstances. It goes without saying that police leadership particularly recognises the role of police families in upholding the strong tradition of valour and sacrifice of Punjab Police. For every victory of Punjab, police is backed by the undying support of their families. It is hoped that this will encourage the morale of our forces and improve our performance in all spheres of work, he added.

Trees-a gift from nature

Trees – a resource of environment and nature.

A gift of Earth’s present and future.

Considered as next to god,

Now-a-days killed by knife and sword.

Loved by animals and children for their games,

Life of trees has been turned into fumes and flames.

There was a time when trees were loved and worshiped for it’s sanctity,

In today’s world ,on contrast ,trees have lost their

Entity.

In the Corona age, Trees have become precious,

Benefits of trees are various.

Shade, shelter, timber and fruits, are truly

the endowments of trees,

Truly, man has released,

the uses of forests and trees.

Afforestation has become mandatory,

Release of oxygen is normal and ordinary.

Love trees, as they cry when cut by sword,

Respect trees, grow trees and worship

Trees without any word.

Modern education system in India-amendments

The Indian education system has become a matter of concern now. The topmost reason for it’s being laggard is its the outdated education system. Until now the problem faced by it was structure and syllabus, Rat race, competition, reservation system, peer pressure, and over-commercialization. For Example, there is a huge difference between the levels of 10th and 11th standard (maths).

After the decision of demonetization, new education policy has been launched which is incredible in 2020. looking at the unnecessary burden on school children 10+2board structure has been dropped, with the introduction of new school structure 5+3 +3+4.

Up to 5 preschools, 6 to 8 mid-school, 8to 11 high school,12 onwards, in graduation, the degrees shall be for 4 years. Vocationalization after the 6th class is available. Major subjects will be there along with minor subjects also. The best part is one authority shall govern the whole system. UGC AICTE will be merged. Government, private, open, Deemed, vocational shall have the same grading considering the condition of students in which one has acquired that degree. The same rating shall be done. New teacher training shall be set up. New basic learning program shall be launched Multiple entries and exit shall be permitted to any course. Credit shall be given according to the number of years that have been passed out. School exams will be semester wise twice a year. The core syllabus shall be there.

More focus shall be on practical knowledge rather than theory.Diploma certificate shall be for two years and degree for full course shall be given.Single authority shall govern all the courses.

Now we can hope our education system will be bright and shall be at par with modern countries. Thus we can take modern education system as the combination of technological developments and conservatives of old and traditional education institutions. This shall be witnessed with old buildings with old buildings with long history and see computers and systems that cordinate and direct education.

PANDEMIC WORLD

In a few months, the mayhem wrought by covid-19 has changed us in ways one can’t imagine. We thought that the lock down will end by a week or so, but here we are after five months scared to hug our family members.

As people group revive and individuals are all the more frequently out in the open, the expression “physical removing” (rather than social separating) is being utilized to invigorate the need to remain at any rate 6 feet from others, just as wearing face veils. “social separating” is a term that was utilized before in the pandemic as individuals remained at home to help forestall the spread of the infection. Presently as everything is reviving and individuals are in open all the more frequently, physical removing is utilized to pressure the significance of keeping up separation when in open territories.

Our heartbeat rises every time the guard scans our temper. During this period when we are held hostage by an invisible enemy, we get caught between fear and anxiety such as worry about getting the virus when you go to the grocery but one should know when to cope with them on our own and when to seek help. Such matters are adaptive when you can use your anxiety as a motivation to protect yourself and your family by following the guidelines recommended by the government. You can deal with this phase by keeping a meaningful routine to keep yourself preoccupied.

When humans went into lock down, we adapted to our forced new life in lock down quite quickly. Being a tech-savvy generation we shifted to digital offices(work from home), Zoom conferences, Classrooms- an Id password away, video calling our friends and family to stay connected. We learned to live our lives without maids, without restaurants, started cooking the restaurant’s food at home. We learned to manage in less ration and this is what pandemic taught us LESS IS MORE!

And while we stayed locked, Wild animals started wandering around the cities across the world and experts claimed that the ozone layer is also recovering itself. The smog in most of the cities lifted and (AQI) Air Quality index was in the green zone in most of the cities. It is giving us this very uncommon understanding into exactly the amount of a wreck we people are a creation of our wonderful planet.

The World Health Organisation chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said, “Covid-19 is reminding us of a simple but vital truth: we are one species, sharing one planet.” This short hiatus only serves to show us how poorly we have lived our lives so far and to give a brief taste of how it could have been having we lived life differently. We should stop being the foe of nature, and rather become its companion.

The education system of India – a satire

Books – the treasure house of knowledge,

With another name of wealth.

Brought fame, wisdom and health.

Books -are indeed a friend,

Read them before world comes to end.

In India , the Vedas form the pillars of education system,

In 90s witnessed growth and boom.

Astonishingly, pollution was evident in it’s system too.

Books were sold it was heard, but degrees were sold too.

For money, question papers leaked,

Everything went fragile and weak.

Undeserved, reluctant got the hold,

Lived the life as if beautiful and bold.

The whole scene is satirical,

For rich the world was a miracle.

I ask when condition will change?

For poor everything seems out of range.

The system has to be fair,

For everyone, it should be easy to bear.

You can’t ask fish to climb,

That’s I think it’s important to be realized.
